SESSIONE STRAORDINARA - 29TH APRIL
Please be PUNCTUAL. This means at least 15 minutes before the exam is due to begin.
III YEAR LETTORATO
Next week there will be no lessons so that you can revise material covered throughout the course. Lessons will begin again on Monday 6th/8th May. Posted below is one version of the Italian newspaper article done in class this week follwed by another article to be prepared for 6th/8th May.
“ We will not allow schools and universities to be occupied because this goes against democracy. Actually, it is an act of violence against students, their families and the State, said S.B.. His is a hard line that could also involve the use of the state and military police. The Prime Minister added, “ I will speak to the home secretary and give him detailed instructions on how the police are to intervene to prevent such / these things happening. The press conference, held by the Prime Minister and minister M.G; had been organised so as to “reveal left-wing lies” as the brochure distributed at the conference reads. B is certainly challenging the accusations from” the left who are exploiting public opinion/jumping on the bandwagon of public protest.. Furthermore, he has accused the press of being “cut off from reality” and public television of “spreading anxiety”. He addressed the protesters directly:- “ It’s our job to defend the State and anyone who commits a crime should bear this in mind/ not forget this” His reaction was heated when a (female)journalist asked him if the police would be used against primary school teachers :- “ it is the duty of the State to guarantee the rights of its citizens . I’m going to be here for another four and a half years so you had better get used to it. We are not going to budge/ We will be making no concessions”. This extremely hard line is both disconcerting and worrying for the home secretary. Roberto Maroni met the Prime Minister in the afternoon. Berlusconi wants to see “ evident signs the situation is changing” and said that “ the occupation of public places is not acceptable” and that those who are protesting are a minority. He compared the situation to the protests against the landfills inCampania . Today the situation will be discussed at the Home Office in a meeting chaired by
Alfredo Mantovano, the undersecretary. Currently
there is no likelihood that the police
will actually enter the universities but they
will probably intervene in the surrounding outside communal areas. Moral suasion is being considered as a means
to block
the protests by talking to
rectors, deans and students involved in the sit-ins. However, it is B’s comments that have sparked debate.
Veltroni accused him of “ adding
fuel to
the fire”, and of having “ a
provocative and simplistic” attitude to
the problem. He went on to say “
The government must assume responsibility for turning a social
problem into a threat to public safety. It’s not the first
time a government has had to face public
protest, this is the spice of democracy/ this is what democracy is about”.

Qualche esempio: Filippo, arrivato a
messaggi scritti a mano e deposti su vassoi d' argento.
maledetto sciocco Edimburgo». Lui si sarebbe lamentato: «Vogliono trasformarmi
in ameba». Terreno principale dello scontro familiar-generazionale furono i
preparativi per l' incoronazione di Elisabetta. Filippo suggeriva di
svecchiarla.
Furono in
cameraman e telecronista entrassero a Westminster Abbey era sembrata orrenda
Guido Santevecchi

Lasciò la macchina all’ingresso di
casa Ponting, con le chiavi
nel motorino di avviamento. Senza
acute. Edward le portò in fondo
al giardino e fece giurare
solennemente , a entrambe, prima Harriet poi
Florence.

When he thought of her, it rather amazed him that
he had let that girl with her violin go.
Now, of course, he saw that her self- effacing proposal was quite irrelevant.
All she had needed was the certainty of
his love, and his reassurance that there
was no hurry when a lifetime lay ahead of them. Love and patience
– if only he had had them both at
once – would surely have seen
them both through. This is how the entire course of a
lifetime can be changed – by doing nothing. On Chesil Beach
he could have called out to Florence , he could have
gone after her. He did not know, or would not have cared to know, that
as she ran away from him, certain in her distress that she was about to lose him, she had never loved him more, or
more hopelessly, and that the sound of
his voice would have been a deliverance,
and she would have turned back.

sinistra», come dice l' opuscolo distribuito all' uscita. Berlusconi contesta
discariche in Campania.

Classwork - Group C1
Complete the work begun in class for Friday 12th April. Here is the complete text:
era in tour.
orfanotrofio in Malawi.
